From all the EAC staff and board, we want to extend our deepest appreciation to all the guides, our keynote speakers (Kenn Kaufman and Sharon Beals), Friends of the Festival and inkind sponsors, attendees, volunteers and KWMR, our media sponsor, who all made the 10th Anniversary of the Point Reyes Birding & Nature Festival (April 25th-28th) so successful.

It was a true gathering of the birders and nature-minded folks, who came together to learn, explore and discover Marin-Sonoma counties abundant flora and fauna. With over 50+ events over the four day weekend, including two evening social and keynote programs, participants viewed over 150 species of birds, and various land and marine mammals. We would like to also thank our partner, Amigos Alados (Winged Friends), who helped us plan and host a free Youth & Family Program on Saturday, April 27th in Point Reyes Station with bird ambassadors from the Sonoma Bird Rescue Center, games and activities, face painting and more. Proceeds support our mission to protect and sustain the unique lands, waters and biodiversity through advocacy, education and engagement programs.

Check out a photo recap of the event below, and mark your calendars for the next festival April 24-26th, 2020.

In gratitude,

Morgan Patton | EAC Staff and Board | Bird Festival Committee

We couldn’t have asked for a better spring day to spend in beautiful Marin County.

My bird festival outing with Kenn Kaufman was super fun, and the best part was getting to see the Orange Oriole at Bear Valley, and lots of cute Common Murres at Chimney Rock, which look just like penguins! Ken helped me use his scope lots of times and listened to my story about carpenter bees.
