Join us for an evening with Jack Dumbacher, Curator of Ornithology and Mammalogy (birds and mammals) at the California Academy of Sciences. Our evening will start with an outdoor social gathering with drinks, food and music. This is one of the only opportunities to gather as a group, meet Jack, our guides, staff and other attendees. Following the social, we will gather in our seating area to hear from Jack. Keynote topic coming soon.
Jack Dumbacher is a PhD biologist, specializing on avian genetics, avian chemical defense, and dabbling in lots of other things related to birds and mammals. I got my undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN), my PhD at University of Chicago, and worked for several years at Smithsonian Institution with Rob Fleischer and others. In 2003, I became Curator of Ornithology and Mammalogy (birds and mammals) at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, and I live nearby in beautiful Marin County, California.
