2026 Festival Design

This year’s 2026 Point Reyes Birding & Nature Festival design brings the wild beauty of the Pacific Flyway to life through a striking collaboration between pro-bono designer Rebecca Dawson and bird illustrations (owl and raptor) from Bolinas-based artist, Keith Hansen. Drawing from Hansen’s evocative bird imagery, Dawson created a visual identity that feels both dynamic and grounded—layering bold color, thoughtful composition, and organic movement to reflect migration, biodiversity, and connection to place. The result is a cohesive festival look that honors the spirit of Point Reyes: vibrant, welcoming, and deeply rooted in the wonder of the natural world, inviting everyone in to celebrate birds, art, and community.

Rebecca Dawson is a long-time Marin resident. She attended UC Berkeley, where she began applying her background in the arts to designing sustainable apparel. Her style is influenced by Marin’s environment, inspired by the textures and patterns we find in nature. Through her style and subject matter, she hopes to use design to promote sustainability and an appreciation for the natural world.

Festival Logo Swag featuring Barry Deutsch Designs

In addition, we have the festival logo design available, designed by longtime supporter Barry Deutsch featuring the iconic Point Reyes peninsula with various outlines of key birds and wildlife.

Artist Barry Deutsch was born in Brooklyn midway into the last century, he studied and practiced graphic design in NYC and then saw a light and came West in the 60s eventually partnering with an industrial designer creating the firm Steinhilber+Deutsch in the late 1970’s. There he created logos, packaging, and exhibits for many companies such as Electronic Arts, Esprit, Atari, and JBL. In 1995 he and Lori Wynn founded Deutsch Design Works, a package design and branding group working for National and International companies such as Anheuser-Busch, Campbell’s, Annie’s, Suntory, and Sprint.
